WHAT IS IT?
The Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation (formerly known as School-Work Alternation) are an innovative teaching method that, through practical experience, helps consolidate the knowledge acquired in school and test students’ aptitudes in the field. This enriches their education and guides their studies and future careers through projects aligned with their curriculum.
The activities related to the P.C.T.O., mandatory for all students in the final three years of secondary school, including lyceums, are one of the most significant innovations of Law 107 of 2015 (La Buona Scuola), in line with the principle of open schooling.
A cultural shift for the construction of an Italian approach to the dual system, incorporating European best practices and combining them with the specificities of the Italian productive fabric and socio-cultural context.

PCTO Title: ‘Entering Out, Exiting In’, a path that leads to greater self-knowledge, understanding of the world, and knowing how to think in the world

Mode: In-person
Path Details: The path consists of 5 teaching units for a total of 15 hours
Activities: These include classroom lessons, scheduled educational visits, on-site meetings with experts, and workshops.
The training activity involves secondary school students and artists and art professionals through training workshops and creative improvisation, identifying the expressive potential of each participant by deepening their relationship with the “other.” This transdisciplinary dynamic will allow participants to engage through exercises, simulations, and work-in-progress, engaging in an experiential journey—both personal and collective—to enhance each individual’s expressive creativity. Thematic exercises will develop ideas and themes related to the topic of “vulnerability.” Throughout the learning process, participants will be able to experiment, including through visual and audio cues, on different levels, discovering new communicative prompts and meanings to give voice and substance to our contemporary world.
The teaching methodology: it naturally utilizes problem solving, learning by doing, cooperative learning, and role playing, providing a valuable tool for acquiring skills that can be applied in academia and the job market.

The Piaget-Diaz Higher Education Institute and the VulnerarTe APS Movement are launching an innovative PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) project for the “Cultural and Entertainment Services” major, exploring the connection between vulnerability and creativity.
The Piaget-Diaz Higher Education Institute and the VulnerarTe APS Movement are pleased to announce the launch of a PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) project for the 4AC class in the “Cultural and Entertainment Services” major.
The activities will be held in the institute’s theater, located at Viale Marco Fulvio Nobiliore 79/A, Rome, on March 13, 15, and 22, and April 3, 9, and 23, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The “Enter Out, Exit Inside” program, part of the School-Work Alternation program, aims to explore the theme of vulnerability through artistic expression, guiding students on a journey of self-exploration and deepening their relationship with the world.
Through training and creative improvisation techniques, led by instructors from the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and the VulnerarTe Movement, participants will have the opportunity to explore new expressive dimensions and operational tools for developing innovative creative ventures.
This project reflects the institute’s ongoing commitment to providing quality education, aimed at the holistic development of students, enhancing their personal and artistic growth.
